Widows
By Ariel Dorfman with Tony Kushner
Studio
First public performance on Wed 25 Jan, no Friday performance on 27 Jan
This superb play by a former Chilean exile, is a poignant reminder of the atrocities that go unnoticed around the world. The play is set in a war-torn village where all the men have disappeared. Their mothers, wives and daughters wait by the river and mourn. It is only when bodies start to be washed up that the women defy the military in the only form of protest known to them. A powerful and very thought provoking play.

Under the Stars
By Richard Crane
Studio
In the small, crowded dressing room of a west-end theatre, understudies Regina and Stella sit discussing the rudiments of knitting, shopping at Sainsbury's - and how to improve their chances of getting on stage. This gentle comedy takes a poignant look at the persistent frustration and thwarted ambition of Regina and Stella, who are - unwittingly - principal players in their own tragedy.
