A LOVE triangle with a twist is the new production by the Company of Ten at the Abbey Theatre Studio in St Albans.

The drama group is putting on The Breath of Life by David Hare, one of the country's finest writers of contemporary drama.

Madeleine, a retired curator, and Frances, a successful novelist, have met only once but both have been involved with Martin, a lawyer.

Frances unexpectedly calls on Madeleine and the two find themselves exploring their past lives which comes back time and time again to Martin - once married to Frances, had an affair with Madeleine and now living in Seattle with another woman.

Madeleine speaks of the past as boring because, "you always know what is going to happen." But on the night in question, everything is far from boring with the air flashing and tingling with anger, intrigue and wry wit.
