A CELEBRATION of the daftness of life in two one-act plays is the final production of the current season by the Company of Ten at the Abbey Theatre.

The St Albans drama group is putting on The Lesson by Eugene Ionescu and A Slight Accident by James Saunders, both plays from the Theatre of the Absurd by two masters of the genre.

Fans of the likes of Little Britain, Monty Python and The Goons will recognise the total illogicality of life which the plays demonstrate.

Both turn life upside down - Ionesco is darkly political, full of emotion and suspense while Saunders is frothy and funny but no less sharply observant.

Both plays can be seen each evening in the Abbey Theatre Studio from Tuesday, July 3, to Saturday, July 7. They start at 8pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01727 857861.
