A COMPLEX story of sex and politics is the next production by the Company of Ten at the Abbey Theatre Studio.
The St Albans drama group is putting on Broken Glass by leading American playwright Arthur Miller, who died nearly a year ago.
Set in Brooklyn in November 1938, Miller's intense and exciting drama brings us into the American Jewish community and follows their reactions to the notorious Kristallnacht and the rise of European fascism.
Such world-shaking political themes are interwoven with powerful and moving domestic drama where love and passionate relationships are played out among the reports of the horrors in Europe.
Miller uses the resonances of history to spotlight our own moral and physical dilemmas. He said of his play: "It's a tragedy but it's got a lot of jokes."
Broken Glass runs from Friday, January 27, which is Holocaust Memorial Day, until Saturday, February 4, and tickets are available from the Abbey Theatre on 01727 857861.
