The Seven Year Itch

The castSPARKLING comedy The Seven Year Itch gets the Company of Ten's new season underway later this month.

George Axelrod's play was made famous by Marilyn Monroe in the film of the same name, and is billed as a sexy romp,

Richard Sherman sends his wife and child off to Maine for the summer and then fantasises about what he could get up to as a born-again bachelor.

Suddenly he is faced with reality when he meets a gorgeous young actress who has sub-let the apartment upstairs.

Immediately he sees his marriage as wasted time and feels it is necessary to exercise his libido as quickly as possible.

Richard invites the delectable doll down for an evening of temptation but the night doesn't go quite the way he planned.

Issues of morality and guilt sneak into his head and into his conscience - which literally follows him about the apartment. A struggle of heroic and hilarious proportions ensues.

The Seven Year Itch can be seen at the Abbey Theatre from September 17 to 25 and tickets are available from the box office on 01727 857861.
